Three generations of window knowledge, applied to every project.

01 Service

Window Repair

Not every window needs a full teardown. Many historic windows just need targeted repairs to function properly again. Broken sash cords, stuck or painted-shut frames, failed glazing, drafty seals, worn hardware, unbalanced sash weights -- we diagnose the specific problem and fix it without altering the character of your originals. A good repair preserves the window's patina and history while restoring smooth, reliable operation.

Full Restoration

When a window needs more than spot repairs, we do a complete restoration. Each sash is carefully removed, stripped to bare wood, and inspected joint by joint. We repair rot, consolidate weakened timber, re-glaze with period-correct putty, install discreet weatherstripping, and refinish every surface. Hardware is restored or, when necessary, replicated to match the original. The window goes back in operating like new -- but looking like it has been there since the house was built.

Custom Fabrication

When originals are too far gone to save, replacement does not have to mean compromise. We build new windows from scratch that match the home's architectural period exactly -- correct profiles, authentic joinery, historically appropriate wood species, and proper materials throughout. Every detail is studied and replicated so the new window blends seamlessly with the surviving originals. No off-the-shelf substitutes. No vinyl. Just craftsmanship that respects what came before.

The Case for Preservation

Why Restore Instead of Replace?

Architectural Integrity

Your original windows define your home's character. They were designed as part of a unified architectural vision. Vinyl replacements with snap-in grilles will never replicate the proportions, shadow lines, and craftsmanship that make a historic home worth preserving.

Superior Longevity

Historic windows were made from old-growth wood -- dense, tight-grained timber that resists rot far better than the plantation-grown lumber used today. A properly restored original will outlast a modern vinyl or composite replacement by decades.

Energy Efficiency

The claim that old windows waste energy is a replacement industry talking point. Properly restored windows -- with intact glazing, tight weatherstripping, and functional hardware -- perform as well as many new double-pane units, at a fraction of the environmental cost.

Environmental Responsibility

Restoration keeps existing materials out of landfills. Manufacturing new windows consumes significant energy and raw materials. The greenest window is the one that already exists -- it just needs the right craftsperson to bring it back to life.
